Description
In 2011, The North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC) in partnership with the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library (MRCPL) began recording interviews with past and present residents of Mansfield, Ohio's North End neighborhood. One of the project's goals is to create intergenerational connections. To that end, under the supervision of NECIC staff, youth interns conducted the interviews with North End residents over the age of sixty. Overall, the project's goal is to document and preserve for posterity the memories of community elders and to thereby supplement traditional, written history. The MRCPL's John Sherman Room for Genealogy and Local History provided historical expertise and the bulk of the photos in the interview videos.
